Description
Enseignante : Jason MULLALY
The objective for this first semester graduate level course of English as a Second Language for the French Department is, above all, to provide you with the context to improve your English language skills. While taking into consideration your diverse language skills and levels, we will focus on consolidating your literary analytical skills acquired as an undergraduate using a variety of short stories to work from. Our knowledge will be co-constructed from a worksheet of selected themes and passages designed for each short story.
Contrôle des connaissances
you will be asked to give an oral presentation of approximately 10 minutes. It should not only express an in-depth analysis of the question, but should also seek to engage the rest of the class and serve as a basis of discussion about the text. There will be two in- class written assignments, one mid-term and one final, both on the texts in the program. The three assignments will count for a third of your grade each. A list of topics (worksheet) will be provided for each text and serve as a guide for both the oral assignment and the two written assignments. The texts for the program will be provided to you at the beginning of the semester.
Assidu : contrôle continu (voir détail à la fin du descriptif ci-dessus)
Dispensés : Oral (15mn de préparation, 15 mn de passage)
